Ingredients

  • 3 slices thick crusty bread (ideally stale!)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk I used whole
  • 1/4 cup greek yogurt plain or vanilla will work best
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350. If your air fryer doesn't then you can just let it run at the desired temp for ~5 minutes to preheat it!
  • In a shallow bowl or baking dish wish together your eggs, milk, greek yogurt (the secret ingredient!), vanilla, and cinnamon. Set aside.
  • Cut your bread into 1/4ths, you want to do this lengthwise (as pictured) so you have sticks.
Now, take your bread and dip them into the egg mixture. Be sure to get them nice and coated but not overly soggy.
  • Spray your preheated air fryer basket with non-stick spray and place your french toast sticks in the basket. Be sure they aren't touching and that you're not overcrowding the air fryer (they won't cook!)
  • Cook your french toast sticks in the air fryer for 8 minutes at 350, flipping once halfway through.
  • Now, take your french toast sticks out of the air fryer and enjoy!

Notes

You can use any type of bread, I recommend thick, crusty bread.
If you don't have greek yogurt you can leave it out and add an extra splash of milk.
If you don't have stale bread just pop some in the oven at 275 degrees for just about 5 minutes! Or in the air fryer at 275 for just 1 minute. Super easy hack to get stale bread that's perfect for air fryer french toast sticks fast!
When you're flipping your air fryer french toast sticks do so with a spatula not a fork. Kinda like how you'd take cookies off of a baking sheet!
You can also make full sized air fryer french toast, however you may need to extend cooking time by a few minutes to prevent the middle from being soggy.
Feel free to roll these in cinnamon sugar before cooking or sprinkle with powdered sugar after!
To make frozen french toast sticks cook as usual, allow to cool fully, freeze in a single layer on a baking sheet, then place into a bag. Re-air fry or microwave to re-heat.
