During the holiday season I can NOT get enough of any sort of chocolate mint candy combo and this Christmas puppy chow (AKA reindeer mix!) always hits the spot!
White Chocolate Puppy Chow
The first step towards making anything seasonal, I feel, is swapping regular milk chocolate for white chocolate. Maybe it’s because it reminds us of the wintery snow, maybe because it’s just associated with the holiday’s, whatever it is… I’m HERE FOR IT!
PS. Don’t forget to add this recipe to your Holiday Pinterest board. Bring this to your next Holiday get together and you’ll be the talk of the party!
White Chocolate Mint Candy
Peppermint bark is iconic for the holiday season too (find a super easy recipe for peppermint bark here!) , and this Christmas puppy chow is that delicious white chocolate mint candy in puppy chow form! It’s an unexpected twist of the classic combo, and I can almost guarantee the twist will be gladly welcomed where you bring this white chocolate puppy chow… even if that is just to your kitchen table.. for yourself… WELCOMED!
Reindeer Mix or Peppermint Muddy Muddy?
Now, don’t get confused when you’re searching on Pinterest (follow along to my Pinterest boards here!) and see names like “reindeer mix” or “muddy buddy” floating around. It’s all the same thing as puppy chow! Made with Chex mix (or any rice cereal like that), some nut or seed butter, chocolate, and powdered sugar. For this recipe I am using SunButter in place of the typical peanut butter. Why? Well, it’s delicious to start. And, secondly, it makes this recipe allergen friendly which I do think is super important to consider during the holiday’s. I mean, you never really know if whatever party or event you’re bringing this Christmas puppy chow will have a guest with allergies. Better play it safe!
