Something that I and my guests have talked about repeatedly on The SociEATy Podcast is the fact that intuitive eating is a journey that we need to take day by day and that there isn’t necessarily an end or a destination. Well, I am here with a fellow SociEATy member and returning guest (you may recall her previous spot on the show when she talked about intuitive eating requiring more than just one try) Joanne Preston – also known as MJ – to talk about that journey more in-depth and help break it down for you, something that many of you have been asking me to do for a while now!
Joanne reminds us of a little bit of her background but encourages us to go back and listen to her previous episode for a deeper dive! She dives into what her experience was like one week into her journey and how she was initially terrified, one month into her intuitive eating journey and how we need to identify and keep in mind why we are doing this, three months into her journey and what challenges she faced, what positive changes that she started to notice about six months in, and so forth.
We are also reminded of a couple of Joanne’s actionable tips. She, for example, encourages us to wait twenty-four hours before making a rash decision such as giving up on intuitive eating. Joanne’s journey is not necessarily exactly what your journey is going to look like because everyone’s timeline looks different, but it’s definitely pretty average and pretty close to what you can probably expect if you’re new to this, and this will hopefully help you track your progress!
Joanne’s insight is so good and contains so many golden nuggets of wisdom, and I hope that this was super helpful for you! Be sure also to subscribe, rate, and review and to share screenshots of this episode to your Instagram stories to let me know that you’ve heard it and what was most helpful and interesting for you! I read each and every one of your reviews and love hearing from you! I also encourage you to take advantage of the new 2022 New Year Bundle, as prices will be going back up on January 15th!
