Why This Recipe Works
For the longest time, like my entire life until about 1 month ago, I was anti-tofu. I mean it was soggy, bland and just NOT good. So what changed in the past month? I made this buffalo tofu recipe for the first time and my mind was forever changed about tofu!
Even my meat loving husband agreed that this tofu is BOMB. They’re almost like buffalo tofu wings! You get tofu that’s perfectly crispy on the outside while being 0% soggy on the inside. Plus this buffalo tofu recipe is insanely easy to make taking just 5 minutes to put together and 15 minutes to cook!
This buffalo tofu recipe has a secret ingredient in the marinade that makes it SO crispy, delicious and flavorful… Greek yogurt! Trust me- it works! It really helps the marinade stick to the tofu!

Ingredients Needed
- Extra Firm Tofu. Be sure you get the extra firm package! Your tofu texture will be off (yucky soggy tofu!) if you use firm, soft, or silken tofu!
How To Make This Recipe
Wrap tofu in a kitchen towel and place a heavy pan on top to press it. This will remove some of the water. Let this press for ~1 hour. You could also use a tofu press.
In a small bowl combine cornstarch and flour. Set aside.
In a medium sized bowl combine greek yogurt, hot sauce, onion powder, garlic powder and salt. Set aside.
Cut tofu into 1” cubes.
Toss in a medium sized bowl with oil.
Add cornstarch mixture to the tofu and toss again to coat.
Take your cornstarch coated tofu and place it in the yogurt sauce. (Leave the extra cornstarch mixture that may be in the bottom of the first bowl! Anything that isn’t on the tofu you’ll want to discard.)
Coat your tofu with the yogurt sauce.
Air Fryer Cooking Directions
Preheat air fryer to 375. Cook for a total of 15 minutes, turning once halfway through.
Oven Cooking Directions
Preheat oven to 425. Place on a lined baking sheet (spill mat or parchment paper) and bake at 425 for a total of 30 minutes, turning once 20 minutes into the cooking time.

Recipe FAQs
Yep! Just wrap your block of tofu in a kitchen towel and place something heavy on top of it like a cast iron skillet or a stack of books! Let this sit for ~1 hour.
If you skip the step of pressing tofu your tofu will wind up being super soggy and bland. Not good!
This recipe isn’t super spicy. I’m honestly not a fan of really spice food. You can increase the hot sauce in this recipe if you like spicier, hotter food!
