What Is A Mug Brownie?

A mug brownie is a single serving brownie made in a mug. Ya just pop all of your ingredients into a microwave safe cup and cook it in the microwave! my favorite part about making this vegan mug brownie recipe is that there are no extra dishes! Score!

This mug brownie is sort of like a vegan mug cake, but the texture is much more ooey gooey VS cakey! Both great, just different!

How To Make Vegan Mug Brownie Cakes

Here is what you need to make this vegan mug brownie recipe:

  • flour
  • cocoa powder
  • sugar
  • baking powder
  • oil
  • vanilla
  • chocolate chips (optional but encouraged!)

First, you’re going to want to grab your microwave safe mug and mix together all of the dry ingredients.

Then, add in your oil, water and vanilla, mixing well.

Top your vegan mug brownie with chocolate chips!

Now, cook it in your microwave on high for 60 seconds.

Remove from the microwave and devour!!!

Why Is This A Vegan Mug Brownie?

Personally, I am not a vegan by any means. Ya girl loves her meat and dairy. However, sometimes you make a recipe and it turns out that there are no animal products in it! That’s what happened here.

Plus, I do love to challenge myself in the kitchen sometimes and create recipes in new ways with new ingredients.

2 Minute Vegan Mug Brownie

An ooey, gooey, singe serving brownie ready in just 2 minutes flat! This vegan mug brownie is perfect for anyone- even if you aren't vegan!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1.5 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp oil (canola or melted coconut)
  • 3 tbsp non-dairy milk or water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • chocolate chips (optional but encouraged!)

Instructions

Spray a mug of ramekin with non-stick spray.

In your mug/ramekin mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder.

Add in oil, milk/water and vanilla.

Top with chocolate chips.

Microwave on high for 60 seconds.

Dive on in to your vegan mug brownie and enjoy!

Notes

May use all-purpose, whole wheat, or gluten free flour. This recipe has not been tested with alternative flours like almond or coconut! You may need to play around with this and add a touch more.

May use cow's milk if you like, which will make this a non-vegan mug brownie, but it will still work and taste delish!
